I had the opportunity to go on an Enthusiast's tour recently. What a nice place! Ryan, one of the owners, took us on a short tour for the facility. Short because it's not too big. Not only did he give us the usual explanation of the brewing process, but also a history of the place. Included, as well, was their philosophy; that of having a nice town brewpub. In that they succeed. They mostly have session type beer, that is, lower in alcohol. We have several and were happy with all of them. I especially liked the Ctrl-Alt-Del, a flavorful altbier. I also though the Dortmunder was tasty. They have a limited menu featuring come eclectic sandwiches. We both liked ours. They've done a fantastic job of creating a comfortable space. Prices are relatively inexpensive, for what you get. Small town pricing, I assume. If I'm in the area, I will definately go again.

Though I am not a beer fan, this place is one of my favorite places in town. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid back; couches, tables, counters and a patio.. The hard cider goes perfectly with the charcuterie board . Great place to hang with friends and make new ones!

This is the crown jewel of Milford. My wife and I were in town (we live in Seattle) to visit my parents and it was some of the best beer we have had. Considering that we come from the home of craft brews, that is no small compliment. The stand out beer is And the Crowd Goes Mild, a type of beer we have rarely come across (English Mild) and River's Edge nailed it. The food was great as well. We had the charcuterie, veggie, and sausage platters. The meat was from Milford's local butcher and was exceptional. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys beer and/or just got done canoeing down the Huron river.

Cool place. Great beer. The food was decent, but I think the menu should be a little more robust. Not many options to make it a real dinner. Glad Milford has a place like this.

I love this place! Great beer selection, great food including a nice veggie selection. The staff was very fast and friendly. The decor was very cool. The web site gives an accurate description. It was busy but you could still maintain a normal conversation. Everything was a resonable price but the bill while accurate was confusing. They list a base price for the beer then a add on price for a larger size It would be easier to simply list the larger size price. Did I mention I love this place!

New brewery so my wife and I were very interested to check this place out. I think for a first go at it the beers are interesting and there's a nice variety. Lots of hoppy choices with none being overly high in ABV and none all too weak. Service was good even though we were in a full house on a Thursday night, we ended up sitting on one of the large picnic tables outside along with another couple on the other end. The patio is elevated and faces north towards Milford Central Park... however you really cannot see Central Park from the deck, there are trees in the way. The other thing is the place is called River's Edge but honestly the only thing on the River's Edge here is the last row of parking, farthest from the building. Not their fault as it looks like this building was taken over but a bit disappointing in any case. This river (the Huron) typically has a lot of canoe and kayakers passing through but you really cannot see any of that going on from the outdoor deck / patio. The deck is a bit sterile feeling and could use some character. Outdoor music, some natural gas fed tiki torches (or heaters for the early spring and fall cool temps) and some other decor would help. But again this place is new so I think it takes time to make a house a home and get things going. As Slinky R. mentioned the main feature here at REB is beer, not the food menu. We both had a couple sandwiches (they offer 9 different choices) and they were just fine and priced about right at $8 with chips and a pickle. We didn't come for the food but it did hit the spot and was not too greasy or too big a serving where we felt like a second beer was not in order :-) I was satisfied with what we got there for food. Would I go back to River's Edge? Yes, but I will give them time to grow a bit. I visit Kensington Metropark a few times every summer so I think River's Edge would be a nice stop before or after the park. It's only 5 minutes down the road.

Milford's first brewery has opened!!! I think the wait was harder for the owners then the customers, but you'll understand that they wanted to get it just right. This is a brewery at is core! They are all about the delicious beers they serve in a warm and un-rushed social environment. Find a comfortable seat at the bar, a table near the fireplace, or you may enough the patio overlooking central park and the huron river. Start off with a flight of beers to find your favorite. Meet your neighbors and make some new friends while playing darts or shuffle board. If you're hungry they have an inspired menu of sandwiches and snacks. I think the rivers edge got it right and will be another great reason to visit Milford!!!

I don't understand the poor reviews so had to chime in with some sense! This is a welcome addition to the Milford dining/bar scene. I have been there several times now since it's opened and my husband is a member of the mug club. The waitstaff goes out of their way to know and remember your name. The beer is fantastic. (My personal favorite is the Golden Ticket.) They change frequently since they're moving so much beer due to high demand (a great problem to have and evidence of the quality!) They do have a small menu that consists of sandwiches - delicious sandwiches. The bread is sourced from Crust in Fenton, the meat from the butcher shop and other bits from local farmers markets. The Ryan's Gift to the World sandwich is one of the best I've ever had and I highly recommend. Each sandwich comes with a bag of Better Made chips & a McClures pickle. Simple and SMART. The focus here is the beer - but - having a nice sandwich to eat if you want to go for dinner is a great option. They also have warm pretzels & cheese dip (also great) and popcorn. In sum, you should not hesitate to visit, drink & eat. It's so great to have a high quality brewery and operation in Milford!

As I had suspected, giving River's Edge some time really improved my return experience. Once again, I went for a flight, and this time, the strange finish was gone. Throughout the flight, each was a decent example of the style it claimed to represent. One particular standout was the Barred List Kolsch. I've always been a big fan of New Holland's Full Circle, but Barred List may take the crown for my favorite Kolsch. Similarly, Polly Jean made for a competent Belgian blonde, while The Beaten Path was almost disturbingly smooth for an 8.2 imperial stout. Of the six selections in the flight, I could easily see returning for three of them. The offerings are diverse enough that all but the strongest Budweiser devotees should find something acceptable. Though, I have to say that this is something of a disappointment... for as wide as the selections go, you'd think they'd pull off a lager to round everything out. The decor and ambiance hadn't changed very much since opening, so if you've read the original review, that's still something to contend with. On the other hand, service was a huge improvement over my first visit, and it looks like the menu has changed. They seem to have a handle on the limited food offerings. Thought with their 4:00 opening, it makes lunch out of the question. The menu and surroundings don't really lend themselves well to dinner, so I'm not entirely sure why they bother. In any case, it isn't a reason to avoid the place, but I'd still plan on getting food elsewhere.

While I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staffs smiling faces and truly wanted to give this place five stars because it's "cool" in here there were some basic needs left unmet... Although the staff walked around quite a bit it didn't seem like they were actually doing anything unless someone kind of shouted out at them or stopped them by standing in the aisle because their glasses were empty for a little while. I ordered a flight and all of my drinks were empty and my food was gone and nobody checked on me to give me my bill or even check on me for like 10 minutes... One more thing... bugs... a few GIANT black ants fell on me, yes FELL ON ME from the ceiling while I was visiting... Two on my left arm (almost in my beer) and another on my shoulder (my wife knocked it off of me). But this time I was ready to go... Overall it's ok (at best)... I'll probably check it out again because the design of the inside was cool but overall it wasn't great

A stone's throw from Downtown Milford's Central Park and on the banks of the Huron River, you will find River's Edge Brewing Co. This is a brewery that was founded by three local families that grew up together and over their combined love for one another and good beer, they decided to go into business and build a hometown brewery. Their passion for beer and friendship is apparent when you walk in... so come to River's Edge ready to taste their craft beer and be surrounded by happy people. The menu is small, including snacks, sandwiches and most importantly booze. You can get a 16 oz. draft beer for $5. Their snacks range from $1 for popcorn or pretzel rods to $7.50 for a medley of asparagus, bacon, walnuts and apples. I personally recommend trying the Bavarian pretzel with mustard for $3 and adding the Pimento cheese dip for $2... totally awesome. Their sandwiches are almost all $8 and they have something for everyone. They keep it Michigan-made and serve them with a McClure's pickle and a bag of Better Made Potato Chips. River's Edge Brewing Co. is a true brewery. You can seat yourself inside at one of their cozy tables or outside on the patio, fulfill your competitive side with some darts or shuffle board, sit back and appreciate the art of brewing or simply just mingle with good people for hours. The owners pride themselves in being a "place where friends and the community can gather to share a fresh Pint and get to know each other a little better"... no better vibe than that!

This is such a great addition to Milford! Tried a 6 taster flight and enjoyed them all. I really like the interior, the wooden walls and the fireplace give it a cozy feel. I definitely recommend coming here!

River's Edge Brewing Co has hit the ground running! Although the brewery has just opened the staff was friendly and efficient, and the beer was very tasty. A pint is $5 and a sampler of six beers is $10, and quite worth it since after trying all the beers there were none I found objectionable. I prefer darker beers and the Dirty Frank Stout was deliciously smooth. The Taproom is very spacious with comfortable tables, games, and a fireplace; or outside seating if you prefer. There is only one TV, and the website mentions that they are going for a gathering place feel which is a terrific way to describe the aesthetic. REBC is certainly worth a visit!

Everything about this place was great (except for the golf they were showing on TV). The cask Milford pub ale, an ESB, was beautiful. Perfect temperature, smooth as pudding. We had some nachos with salsa and queso, which were both good (far beyond typical bar food). The kimchi was also a surprise and very tasty. I loved the decor of the place. Lots of wood, a canoe strapped to the ceiling. I loved seeing the brewery machinations through the partition. This is the kind of place I'd be a regular at if it were anywhere nearby. Highly recommend.

So Milford is growing, extending the Main Street south of the central park. First and most important this is a brewing house. Like many breweries the equipment for brewing is front and center. Their beverage selections go deeper than most places - with 10-15 options, with flight samples and growler membership (mug club) options too. They also have a couple of Cider and wines from local providers. But beer is their focus. So its a larger place, with a bar and about 20 tables inside. They also have a patio with another 8-10 tables. The place was busy for a Friday night, but we were able to grab a table. They do serve food, but they really have a limit menu (I guess its a small kitchen), its a one pager, sandwiches and snacks. It was good - they have a chef - but its basically brats and burgers. So this is a micro brewery first and restaurant second - other places have the other approach. I went with the American Stout - nice and smooth. Wait staff was good - friendly and helpful Its worth checking it out.

I came here for the first time few months back, I think it was February, and I can't say I had the best experience. I went with a friend of mine since we were both really excited to try this place since they announced the construction. When we walked in we weren't greeted by anyone and felt a little out of place since you immediately walk right into the dinning room. We weren't sure if we were supposed to set ourselves or if we had to go to the bar to order drinks so we stood there trying to figure it out. We ended up going up to the bar and ordering than finding a place to sit. The only place we could find was a 12 top table so we took it. After sitting there for about ten minutes a party came in and took over the rest of the table; they were loud and rude. We moved over to the bar once an opening came up. Overall the drinks are so cheap; I couldn't not believe my eyes. Their medium size growler was only $5...at other brewers they are close to $30. My friend and I both bought bowlers and had three drinks. I would have gotten food but I don't think they were serving food at that point. I was an OK experience.

River's Edge BC is a cool little place. Hubby, bf and I swung up here for some grub and suds on V day.... what better way to spend your V day than nestled up on a tall table with some delicous brews!? This place is one of my buddy's favs so we figured we had to venture up..... after a short, cold drive we arrived and found the place pretty busy for a random 5 on a Saturday. First round, hubby got the cask IPA and I got the Koelsch. Service was very prompt, the guy was also extremely pleasant. For the sandwich, I ordered the Hans Gruber as it came recommended. It was good, fresh and homemade but I think my mind was in another place... maybe it was just not what I was looking for that evening. Hubby got some other sandwich- I wish I could remember the name of it- and he scarfed it right down!! My buddy loved his sandwich as well. The sandwiches were priced between $8-$11... not bad for carefully crafted and locally purchased goods. We ordered another round of drinks, I savored the oatmeal stout (which was scrumptious) and hubby had a brown. Nothing super exciting, but that is the point. Good food, great brews, and a chill place. It was great! I look forward to heading back!

Fantastic location, right next to the river and the railroad tracks! Incredible staff! Awesome female brewmaster! Great sandwiches! To be a brew club member, it's only $65 and you get 20% off all drinks and merchandise... And you get in invited to really cool, free, members-only tastings like tonight!

Awesome beer selection in a cozy brewery. My husband and I had a sampler before we decided what we were going to order for a pint. My favorite beer was the cacao coffee stout. We also tried some sandwiches. They were decent but they did not have a vegetarian soup available to go with the sandwiches. It would have been nice to have both options, one meaty and one vegetarian.

Good food, good friends, Great Beer! By far one of our favorite places in Michigan to have a pint!

This is a fantastic new brewery with excellent beer. Very nice to have something like this in the Milford area. The food is also delicious! Simple but amazing sandwiches, and I truly appreciate their low priced appetizers to munch on while you wait. The only thing keeping me from giving the full 5 stars is the community seating inside the restaurant. Come on guys. I'm sure this sounded like a great idea in a free spirited brainstorming session but it's extremely frustrating and stressful for your customers. This way of seating forces you to go into full on predator mode; stalking tables and fighting fellow customers for it. It's enough to make my girlfriend and I go somewhere else so we don't have to deal with it. I know it sounds good in theory, but imagine this: You're waiting on the far side of the bar for 30 minutes, feeling pretty good about a table near you opening soon when a table on the OTHER side of the restaurant opens and a group who have been waiting for 3 minutes gets to enjoy a table simply because they were closer and in the right place at the right time. I know your intent is to create a meeting ground for community and have people mingle, but let the actual bar do that. Hire a hostess and put some order and structure in the seating! Again, I seriously enjoyed the beer and food. Top notch stuff. Also - huge props to whoever designed your logo - it's probably the best brewery logo in Michigan! I even bought a beer mug and might get a t-shirt next time.

New place with big recommendations that weren't quite met. Beer was good. Sandwiches were just OK despite the hype on the menu. Our waitress dropped a stack of napkins on the floor on the way to our table. She scooped them up and laid them next to me. No thanks, I'll take some clean ones. On the other hand, she was very knowledgeable and eager. And again, the beer was good! We'll be back but we're hoping for an improved experience.

I love the Boom Clang Steam! My summer favorite! The IPA is very good too. Try the Turkey Kim chi Ruben. Excellent sandwiches. This is a great local brewery.
